Tretiheal Cream is primarily used to treat acne vulgaris (pimples, blackheads, whiteheads), reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and smooth rough, sun-damaged skin.
Tretiheal is a prescription-strength topical medication manufactured by Healing Pharma that contains Tretinoin (a synthetic Vitamin A derivative or Retinoid). It is primarily used to treat acne vulgaris (pimples, blackheads, whiteheads), reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and smooth rough, sun-damaged skin.
HOW IT WORKS
Unlike over-the-counter Retinol, which must be converted into retinoic acid by the skin, Tretinoin is already in its active acid form. It accelerates the skin's natural cell turnover - meaning older, damaged surface cells are shed more efficiently while newer cells take their place. This process unclogs pores, regulates oil production, and stimulates collagen production over time.
AVAILABLE STRENGTHS
Tretiheal comes in three primary concentrations, allowing patients to scale their treatment according to skin tolerance:
0.025%: effective for mild to moderate acne and a gentle introduction for new users.
0.05%: balances noticeable anti-aging results with less risk of severe irritation.
0.1%: often prescribed for stubborn acne or severe photoaging, but carries a higher risk of side effects.
HOW TO USE
Because Tretinoin is powerful, improper application can cause severe dryness and irritation.
Tretinoin breaks down in sunlight and can make your skin temporarily photosensitive, so it is strictly a nighttime treatment. Limit usage to 1- 2 times a week, gradually increasing to nightly or every other night as your skin builds tolerance. Gently smooth a single pea-sized dab evenly across your face, avoiding the immediate areas around your eyes, mouth, and nostrils. Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer before or after the cream to mitigate dryness and peeling. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 every morning, even on cloudy days.
During the first 2 to 6 weeks, your skin may experience a purging phase where acne appears to worsen. This is highly common as the cream rapidly pushes underlying congestion (blackheads and whiteheads) to the surface. You may also experience dryness, redness, flaking, or a mild burning sensation. These side effects typically subside as your skin adjusts, but you can consult a doctor for more advice on mitigating these effects.
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS
Pregnancy: Tretinoin and other topical retinoids should not be used while pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Skin Conditions: Do not apply Tretiheal to sunburned, broken, or eczema-affected skin.
Cosmetics and Other Actives: Wait at least 30–60 minutes after washing your face before applying Tretiheal to fully dry skin. Avoid pairing it with harsh, drying toners, Benzoyl Peroxide, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs/BHAs) in the same routine unless advised by a dermatologist.
